A Week In The Life - Tuesday, February 14

6:00am/ wake up. scott is awake as well and wishes me a happy valentine's day. i smile.
6:20/ i get dressed in my valentine's day finest which includes a black sweater, a pink top, and red pants. i don't usually dress for holidays (i don't EVER dress for holidays!) but i decided to this year. and? it matches my new coach jacket, my gift from scott. :)
7:45/ arrive at school. find a gift bag sitting on my computer keyboard. smile.
8:00/ spend the day going over a test review. i'm convinced the kids will do well on their test tomorrow! (this year has been a struggle. i've done about 95% of the work and beg the kids to meet me the other 5%. it's getting old.)
10:30/ send over a valentine's day card to jen. receive a joke back that makes me laugh out loud.
12:10pm/ eat lunch with the other science teachers. eh. i haven't been spending much time in our lunch room and i'm not really sure why.
1:55/ 6th period starts and we begin a 3 day bacterial growth lab. i thoroughly gross them out by informing them of all the bacteria that is on them, around them, and floating in the air. by the end of class my germ-x is half gone.
3:00/ leave school as quickly as possible. i have a hot date with my man! these are waiting for me when i get home.

3:30/ head off to santa barbara. scott and i are going to pascucci, my very favorite restaurant! it's a far trek but totally worth it. and it shows he cares. :)
4:00/ make a quick stop at the camarillo outlets so scott can exchange some shirts. i guess it's fair since he's driving 45 mins for dinner for me.
4:45/ i'm amazed at how gorgeous the weather is on our way out. the water is calm and the sun is shining!

5:15/ we get to santa barbara and it's super windy and cold. that means there sure won't be any walking around for us. that's ok. we get to the restaurant and have a seat at the bar. we order drinks and start chatting and laughing.

6:15/ we sit down for dinner. i make sure i order some delish bacon wrapped prawns. they are AMAZING! scott orders his risotto, of course. i pick out something new. it's yummy...but i'm already pretty full from the appetizer. oops!

8:00/ we're back in the car and heading home. i tell scott i'm so tired. scott is too. this worries me. so i find total eclipse of the heart on the radio and turn it up! scott and i sing a duet ;)
9:00/ home and straight to bed. we had the best night!

A Week In The Life - Monday, February 13

I have LOVED the idea of doing a week in the life but simply haven't found the time to actually do it. Of course, the week I finally chose was last week - the one where I was SO busy I didn't have ANY time to actually write it up! So although this is a week late...and there aren't nearly enough photos...here's a glimpse into the craziness!

6:00am/ wake up. well, lets be honest, i really just got up because i had already been awake for at least an hour. i've noticed lately that i have anxiety every sunday night and just can't stay asleep. this night proves to be no different and i only end up sleeping for about 2 hrs. boo.
7:40/ arrive at school. teach some science. we're finishing up a unit on evolution so i spend the class periods tying up some loose ends before their test on wed.
11:15/ prep. jen and i run some errands in preparation for our people's choice awards on thursday. we both commiserate about being exhausted already even though the week just started.
12:15pm/ lunch. a couple of former students come in with a bouquet of red roses and present me with them. what?! i'm shocked and overwhelmed. i don't believe they are for me but they convince me otherwise. they say that they want to thank me for all i do. i tear up but hide it well.

2:50/ the bell rings. school is done but i am not. i thought for sure i'd be able to get home early and take a nap but unfortunately that's not going to happen. i meet with some other teachers about planning and finally leave school at 430.
5:00/ i get home and am so tired but also know it's too late for me now. i start looking at blogs online and end up drifting off...
6:03/ scott calls and wakes me up. he asks if we're having dinner tonight. sure and thank you for waking me from a nap that couldn't have ruined my night's sleep!!
7:00/ scott goes back to work. i sit and watch tv to try to keep myself awake. so far so good.
9:00/ scott gets home and i'm headed to bed. good night!!

Project Life

I'm SO excited to have finally purchased Project Life!
I was waiting (and waiting...and waiting...and waiting) for some of the supplies (hello page protectors!) to become back in stock before jumping on the band wagon.

Based on what I've seen around the web, I can't wait to start sharing my contribution on here as well :)

So I was checking out Google Analytics. I'd never even heard of that before! And you know what it said??

It said people actually read my blog!

And that's great!!

But you know what's not so great??

Nobody leaves comments (except you Dawn!). So I can't get to know you. And that's a bummer.

So say hi so I can say hi back. Google thinks you should...and so do I. :)

I need to get better at this

I've been reading through Elise's blog (because I basically LOVE it!). And I've been doing a lot of thinking (like usual).

And I've realized that I really should blog more. Really. Even though I say that at least once every couple of months...and then never follow through :(

Sometimes it's because I'm not sure what I should share. And sometimes it's because I'm short on time. And sometimes I'm just dang lazy.

But honestly? This is my space. And I'm really doing MYSELF a disservice to not have a spot to record my thoughts, my photos, my life. Because it's my life. And that should be important enough to document. Not for everyone else. But for me.

So be prepared for more posts! Because I have a feeling 2012 is going to be A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. :)

Right Now - February 11, 2012

I love when Dawn does these! So I thought I'd do one too! ;)

Outside my window... it's pretty overcast. Personally? I hate this kind of weather. It always leaves me a little sad. Rain? Fine. Sun? Fine. Cloudy? Eh.

I am thinking... that as much as I love relaxing, I always have this nagging feeling that I need to be doing something. Perhaps if I did something I wouldn't feel so guilty for just sitting here...

I am thankful for... people in my life who love me. Which has changed DRASTICALLY in the past few months and I couldn't be more grateful.

From the kitchen... I made delish coffee for both of us. I heart the Keurig. I haven't yet had breakfast which is a problem since we're creeping in on noon. And? I was going to make dinner tonight but Scotty suggested Pho and I just can't say no to that ;)

I am wearing... p-jams still. Is that wrong??

I am creating... some future blog posts. Finally.

I am going... to get Scott's Valentine's Day gift today. And I'm excited! I hope he will be too :)

I am reading... way too many different things! And not finishing any of them! It's a problem. But in particular? Elise's blog because she's inspiring and I want to learn to run. I'm also starting The Hunger Games. I'm know I'm late to this party. But the movie is coming out, Scott wants to see it, I want to read it first, and a student in my 2nd period and I are reading it together. Too cute! I'm glad I waited for all those reasons.

I am hoping... that life will calm down soon. Because frankly I can't keep up. I'd like to catch my breath at some point but everyone else seems to have different ideas for me.

I am hearing... the Millionaire Matchmaker Marathon on Bravo...which is contributing to my still being in pajamas and not eating.

Around the house... don't get me started. Too much to do which makes me so overwhelmed I just want to take a nap.

One of my favorite things... is spending time with Scott. And laughing. And learning to relax so I'm better at the first two.

I don't understand... what is going through my mother's head. Honestly? I want off the roller coaster.

I wish... that people who contact me would do so without some sort of hidden agenda.

A few plans for the rest of the weekend... running a couple of errands for V-day, some cleaning, some reading, some test making, and some lunch with the best friend.
